All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement provided at the time of booking confirmation or when you collect your vehicle. This agreement outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance details, charges, and your responsibilities associated with the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

Requirements for Vehicle Rental

You are required to possess a valid driving licence suitable for the vehicle category, held for the duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be arranged via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Durham office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment along with a security deposit is usually required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off

7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities, including racing, rallying, or off-road driving. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Ensure the vehicle is used within its designed purposes and does not exceed passenger or weight limits. Any travel outside specified geographical boundaries requires prior permission.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Durham will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the rental in the past 12 months.
