All car rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or vehicle pickup. This document outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance provisions, fees, and your obligations for the rental. In the event of any inconsistencies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.

Eligibility Criteria

Requirements for Vehicle Rental

• To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Durham, you must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may vary based on vehicle type. Drivers under 25 may incur additional fees. A valid full driving license for the appropriate vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of current address. 3. Reservations and Payments

• Reservations can be completed via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Durham office. A booking deposit may be necessary to confirm your reservation. Full payment along with a security deposit is generally required upon vehicle pick-up. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off

6. Modifications and Cancellations

7. Restricted Activities

Prohibited vehicle uses:

• Use of the vehicle for any illegal activities is prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in any hazardous driving. Transporting dangerous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized drivers is forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding passenger or weight limits, or operating outside designated geographic areas without permission is strictly prohibited.

Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.

8. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire Durham is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the rental amount paid in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraudulent actions.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in England and Wales.
